New projects pop up every day. From a new site to a whole new field of design, the latest being Widgets. You may ask yourself, what the heck is a widget? Well, it was first brought up my Apple in their latest OS, MAX OS X Tiger. It’s a small app running “in the background” that can do some mundane tasks. Such as a calculator or a simple RSS reader. Not a Mac user like myself? No worries, all you need to do is download and install Yahoo! Widget Engine, previously known as Konfabulator. But what does that have to do with me? A lot actually. I recently starting creating my own widgets. From RSS readers to countdowns! You can view them all right here.

I’m also hard at work on my main site, 07Designs.com.  My site is basically a design site which hosts, designs and codes gaming blogs. We currently have two fully operating blogs, City17′s Movies and our most visited XBOX@07! We also have some great upcomming blogs, so be sure to keep checking the site.

Lastly, I must apologize for my lack of posting on this blog. But I promise you that I will try my best!

Well today was Thanksgiving, my second one, ever. I’m still not really used to having a holiday in November like this, but I guess it’s fun to gather with friends and family, and eat some turkey. Only problem is, I’m not much of a turkey eater, but I was hungry. The other ‘big thing’ was pumpkin pie, which i won’t eat even if I was going to die of hunger. So all I had was some cookies and tea for desert. Wasn’t too bad I must say, but was fun seeing all my friends.

In other news, I’m busy with a few projects. First up is WoWAdventures, this site is somewhat of a World of WarCraft fan site. I’m trying to get it going but we’ve hit a brick wall at the moment, but I’m sure we will get it rolling soon! I designed the site myself, and made it so that it will resemble the official WoW Site, be sure to visit WoWAdventures!

I am also working with City17 on a “The Movies” website, which has been a big success so far! The site deals with The Movies game by Lionhead Studios, the title speaks for itself basically. In the game you can manage your own movie studio and/or make your very own movies. The site runs on WordPress (same software that this blogs runs on) and was designed by me. Be sure to visit the site today and give me some feedback!

That’s all for today! Happy gaming, designing and holiday!

I must apologize, I haven’t posted here in a while. Yes I am ashamed of myself. But I have been busy with a lot of things. So here’s an update.

I recently became a part of the moderating team over at HLFallout.net, a very popular Half-Life community. I must say that I am very proud to be a part of the team, and finally give something back to the Half-Life community. So be sure to head over to HLFallout.net and see what it’s all about!

Thursday was the first day of my next class, Effective Speaking. So far it’s kind of boring, with a lot of discussion questions and other small meaningless assignments. But it’s something I have to do and I’ll try to enjoy it.

Hmm, what else. Oh yeah, my website was kind of hacked, here’s what I posted on the Photography forums I host:

I had an image uploading script which I used for personal use, it was a ‘strange’ URL so you wouldn’t be able to find it.

The script isn’t as secure as I thought it will be. It seems as though someone uploaded a script to my server, which caused a lot of problems. In the end they had to reset my account, resulting in deletiong of everything. From files to mySQL database information.

Any good? Well yes, this gave me a chance to re-invent 07Designs and network sites. All 07Designs network sites will now use PHPBB and share userdatabases. Meaning register once, and log-on to all sites with the same account.

So basically, I’m working hard on the new 07Designs.

That’s it for now, I’ll try and keep this more updated. I promise.

First up, GameCube loses Starcraft: Ghost.

Today, Blizzard announced that its upcoming console game, Starcraft: Ghost, will forego a release on the GameCube. A Battle.net moderator cited online issues for the cancellation: “Unfortunately the GameCube has no online service and since so much work is going in to the online portion, it would be additional work to release only part of the intended game.” The moderator is quick to point out, however, that “the GameCube and Revolution will still be considered for future products.”

FireFox Release Candidate 1 was released today, which you can download here. A lot of new features were included, you can find the release notes here.

Windows Live Messenger screenshots and details: As part of Microsoft’s Live extravanganza yesterday they announced Windows Live Messenger 8, the successor to MSN Messenger. Screenshots from the presentation have popped up on the web, and it looks like Live Messenger 8 is a bit of departure from what we’re used to seeing from Microsoft. Some details can be found at the Windows Live site, including a bit about a phone feature that seems aimed to compete with SkypeOut, allowing users to make voice calls from Live Messenger to cell phones and land lines.

Update: I removed the screenshot due to some illegal possibilities.

New Napster

02Nov05

Napster finally released a new version of their famous music service software, Napster. (duh!) The new version, 3.5, includes a whole new look and a lot of new features. I’m not entirely sure on the new updates, but the new look definitely looks great.

As you might have noticed, I like good looking things. With the new look of Napster I can happily say goodbye to WinAMP. Below is a screenshot of the new interface.

Be sure to visit Napster.com or go directly to the download page.

In other news, GameSpot posted a Hands-on preview of the upcoming Half-Life 2 for the X-Box. Be sure to head over and read the preview.
